Ben Carter MSc FCIPP MCMI
Ben has worked in the payroll profession for about 16 years in various roles in management, consultancy, and education, both for in-house organisations and payroll bureaux. Before that, he spent five years working for HMRC specialising in Employer and Construction Industry Scheme Compliance.
This broad experience has generated a particular specialism in CIS, Benefits-In-Kind, Employment Status, IR35/Off-payroll working, director & NED considerations, termination payments and expenses management.
He also teaches and consults on the more strategic considerations of payroll & HR consultancy and implementation, ranging from designing strategic initiatives that consider payroll functions to critically evaluating employment contractual terms to the optimal project planning for introducing payrolling of benefits as part of an organisation’s reward strategy.
Lisa Carter BA(Hons) FCIPP
Lisa’s 14 years of payroll experience predominates in the arena of payroll service providers and accountancy firms.
As well as possessing a broad working knowledge of the full spectrum of the payroll profession, her experience has fostered notable expertise with pension scheme processing, auto-enrolment, public sector payrolls including educational payrolls and holiday pay calculations.
Lisa intuitively understands the particular considerations for managing outsourced payrolls, the capabilities of an outsourcing provision as well as overcoming the particular challenges that payroll service providers face in the modern working environment.
Lauren Jackson BA(Hons) ACIPP
With a HR degree and a CIPP qualification under her belt, Lauren is a consummate dual HR-payroll professional with an applicable knowledge that is the embodiment of the needs of the modern, forward-thinking organisation.
Alongside possessing an in-depth working comprehension of all payroll obligations; from statutory payments to termination payments, from NICs to gender pay gap reporting, she is the natural “HR voice” within the group.
Possessing a notable flair with the judicial application of employee contractual terms to payroll procedures, she is our resident expert with worker rights and equality considerations.
